'Local Summer' is a term referred to as September and October in San Diego. This is the best time of year to enjoy the beaches in San Diego. This is when the weather is typically sunny and the beaches are less crowded. San Diego has tourists that visit year round, but after labor day the crowds significantly go down. Many locals will avoid the beach during peak times when the area is rampant with tourists because it can be a hassle to navigate with all the people.

During local summer, locals know that they can more easily enjoy the beach. If you want to visit San Diego and have flexibility in your schedule, then visiting during this time would be the best. Typically, prices of hotels and vacation rentals are lower, and the weather is very comfortable with sunny, pleasant days.
