The best way to enjoy San Diego is being in, on or near the water. See below for a list of things to do in Mission Beach, as there are countless activities to enjoy!

  1. Surfing and/or Boogie-Boarding: When visiting the ocean here, you have to give surfing a go! There are many companies that offer surf lessons. There are also a lot of surf shops that provide surfboard rentals or surf lessons. If that's not your style, then give boogie-boarding a try! There's nothing like playing in the waves and letting them take you to shore.

  2. Paddle Board on the Bay: Go for a paddle board ride in the morning or at sunset when the waters are calm. The tranquility on the bay is unmatched and experiencing it on a paddle board is the perfect way to spend a morning or evening. There are several rental shops, or you can buy an inflatable paddle board and take it with you!

  3. Boat Rental: Rent a boat and enjoy several hours or a full day on the bay! Explore different areas of the bay by boat. Bring a speaker, drinks, and snacks, and enjoy spending time on the water with friends or family!

  4. Ride Bikes Along the Boardwalk: Rent bikes and enjoy riding alongside the ocean or bay and take in your surroundings past all the houses, restaurants, and shops! You can also complete a bike tour around the bay and ocean!

  5. Bonfire: Watch the sun go down and have a bonfire by the ocean or the bay. Enjoy time around the bonfire with friends, family, and loved ones. Don't forget to look up at the sky to maybe see some stars shining over the ocean!

There is lots of fun to be had by the water here in San Diego. Be sure to check out the Mission Beach page for more information on other water activities to enjoy in the area.
